Sentosa Island

Vision XS was part of the re-master planning team of Sentosa Island, after the introduction of the Genting Casino Singapore and Universal Studios Singapore. Vision XS was engaged by the Sentosa Island Developments to provide insight and advice in improving the visitor experience. As part of the visitor experience development plan new branded attractions were implemented such as Madame Tussauds and KidZania Singapore.

The brief

Sentosa is a 500 hectare resort island separated from Singapore by a short bridge. It offers a unique blend of leisure and recreational experiences including family attractions, heritage sites, cultural attractions, sandy beaches, rainforest, water sports, golf courses, resort hotels and residential areas.
In 2011,  after ten years of mixed results, Sentosa Island Developments initiated a new master plan review. The project enabled a more accurate assessment of the island and its potential and work is continuing to develop Sentosa into a successful and profitable tourist attraction.

The task
Vision XS was appointed to evaluate the current operations from a customer point of view, – also to provide a market model and psychographic analysis of the key markets for this major tourist destination in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The results
Working alongside Grant Associates, the Master Planner, Vision XS fed the outcomes of their research into the design process which has ensured a fit for purpose development programme and master plan.
